12' Covered Cargo Trailer Plans. The gross capacity is 7000lbs. Empty weight is 1330 lbs. These plans provide a 12' long, 6' wide frame. The inside width is actually 5'6" after you discount wall thickness, and the fenders are recessed 6" into the frame, so you have 5' between the fenders at the floor. The doors are twin with a cam-lock design. The lower steel frame is 2" x 4' x 11 gauge rectangular tubing and the upper is light wall square tubing. The floor is 3/4" plywood. The outer skin can be steel or aluminum, your choice. The running gear is (2) 3500lb capacity axles with brakes. Five big sheets with Twenty-Two steps to simplify this covered cargo trailers construction.
